![]() ![]() In terms of the jumping/knob position… this is usually set on the synth, generally called ‘knob control’ or something similar… and will be either JUMP/DIRECT/CATCH depending on the synth. I would personally delete the MPC seq information for the midi parameters I want to overdub/perform from ML1. This is nowhere near as bad as when you create a midi feedback loop, but it can still sound a bit strange. If the MPC is sending midi data to ML2 and you still have the channel to ML2 open/rec enabled… you will get conflicts of midi data between live ML1 data and the MPC seq data (if you are adjust the same parameters). Minilogue 1 will only control ML 2 when the MPC channel is open/rec enabled. MPC is the midi master transferring from 1 to 2, and transferring from it’s own midi sequences. Minlogue 1 is just your midi keyboard controller. ![]() This would also alive some small tweaks of the automation if you didn’t nail all things perfectly during the live performance. The reason why I’d like to do this is so I could “perform” on a live record take on the synth itself and get as close to a live performance as possible for parameters like filters, envelopes etc while also storing the resulting cc information on the MPC so that the performance can be played back later and re-recorded into an audio track on the MPC at a later phase. Is it possible to tell the synth to receive (but not send out/thru) the midi notes, and tell it to transmit midi cc values but not receive it at the same time? And same thing with the MPC, can it dub record the current midi program so it augments the already recorded midi note data with the externally received midi cc data? Is this possible without causing some weird infinite midi loops? I imagine that I’ll need two midi cables, one from mpc out to the synth’s midi in to send the midi note data, and another cable from the synth’s midi out back into the MPC to record the cc values of the knob twists. In other words, I want to send the midi note data from the MPC during playback, and simultaneously record the live knob movements I make on the external synth. ![]() Here’s the catch: the MPC already contains the midi note values. Possibly dumb question, apologies in advance: I’d like to control an external synth and record the knob twists I make on the synth so the corresponding midi cc values are stored as automation lanes on the corresponding MPC midi program. ![]()
